THE SECRET LIFE OF OWLS

Channel 5 & Windfall Films

Director of Photography

Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome in Essex,  is an unspoilt habitat because it has laid dormant for 100 years after WW1 which has allowed wildlife to flourish. So much so, that it is home to all five species of British owls and many other species of flora and fauna. Wildlife photographer,  Russel Savory, had a crucial role in re-wilding the aerodrome and had the knowledge of where to find wildlife. With his help, over the period of a year I had to film sequences with each species of owl, delving into secret lives, and rigged the barn owl nest with livestream cameras, so it was possible to follow the chicks as they developed.
