SAVING PLANET EARTH: FIXING A HOLE
Channel 4, PBS & Windfall Films
Director of Photography
The remarkable story of the hole in the ozone layer - and how we fixed it. My dad originally approached me with a film idea about the Montreal Protocol. He works on the economic assessment panel for the Montreal Protocol, and asked myself and Tom Mustill to come along to one of their meetings in Paris. We set off with David Dugan from Windfall Films and began filming interviews and this project took off from there. Interviewing leading climate scientists a long the way, like James Lovelock, author of Gaia theory and Jonathan Shanklin, the meteorologist who discovered the ozone hole, at the British Antarctic Survey. Below is a short teaser film made prior to the release of the hour long channel four documentary.
