I really enjoyed the book, H is for Hawk, and couldn't quite believe my luck when asked to film Helen Macdonald training another Goshawk for a BBC Natural World. I spent a few weeks with Helen in a farmhouse in Northumberland as she trained Lupin, her second Goshawk. It was fascinating to learn more about the world of falconry, and to have the opportunity to film Helens and Lupins journey.  Being located in one place allowed me to be very creative, finding details to match moods, and capture Helens emotions throughout the process.
