WALRUS: LIFE ON THIN ICE

PBS & Windfall Films

Director of Photography

This film takes a deep dive into the biology and survival challenges of the Arctic walrus set against the backdrop of a rapidly warming planet. With Kirk Johnson, a paleontologist from the Smithsonian National Museum, we travelled to several locations in Alaska to film the walrus. The main theme revolves around the severe threat posed by global warming and the resulting shrinkage of sea ice. The walruses depend heavily on this ice for crucial life activities like resting, breeding, and foraging.
